The Gidley Living Schoolyard will redesign 4.5 acres of campus and serve about 450 students. The project will remove heat-absorbing asphalt and plant 79 new trees. Improvements include five outdoor classrooms with native gardens and stormwater features, shaded seating for families, and a tree-lined walking loop around half of the play field.
Work is underway at Gidley. These photos show the yard as the new trees, outdoor classrooms, and walking loop take shape. We expect the schoolyard to be ready for students later this year.
